Phoenix architect Don Ziebel says that the "hilltowns of Provence" were the inspiration for the 50,000-square-foot clubhouse and spa. To that end, he imported 70 container loads of wooden beams and doors and stone floors from France. The women's locker room has a Louis XVI fireplace, a zinc bar, and antiqued mirrors, whereas the very Edwardian men's one-dark wood, marble, and vast sinks-appears to have been inspired by Geo. F. Trumper's in Mayfair.
